Youth Leader Jim Baxter's Bio
Jim Baxter is just a little off-key. He enjoys working with students and can relate to them. Jim has experienced God’s grace himself as a teen, and wants to share that grace with others. He enjoys helping a student reach the “Ah-ha!” moment when he/she fully grasps a truth in God’s word, and applies it to their life. He also enjoys the giggles (and odd looks) when he walks into youth group with his Elmer Fudd hat. Jim enjoys just about anything to do with the outdoors: camping, fishing, hunting (with a bow, of course!) He enthusiastically supports student’s activities in the arts, sciences and sports. He also enjoys indoor activities, such as a good round of Mario Cart on the Wii, or a cut-throat game of Risk. Jim and his wife Holly have worked together in ministry for most of their married life. Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry Leadership from Cornerstone University. Jim is a small business owner as a Residential Contractor. Holly has been a Caseworker/Counselor at the Baptist Children’s Home for nearly ten years. She is also a member of Trinity’s worship team. Jim and Holly have two children: Zoey is 7 years old, and Emily is 3 years old. They will both officially be smarter than their father by the time they reach 3rd grade (or so their father says). They also have a dog-in-training named Dot. If you and the young people in your life are looking for a place where you can be yourself, and don’t mind hanging around with imperfect people, Jim and Holly welcome the opportunity to get to know you.
