What is a "covenant?"  It is an old fashioned way to say a contract, or an agreement among people.  It is more than just a statement of purpose, it is more than just words, it is a message of unity, a message of common practice.  A covenant is a very important document, and one that should not be entered into without thought and reflection to the commitment required to faithfully execute and discharge the provisions found within the agreement.  The members who make up the family of Trinity Baptist Church have formed the following covenant with one another as a demonstration of their common faith and love that we share.

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of the church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its ordinances, worship discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel to all nations.

We also engage to obey Titus 2:12-13 by God's grace, denying ungodliness and worldly desires and living sensibly, righteously and godly in this present age.  As we look forward to the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our Great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, we engage to be faithful in proclaiming the gospel with family, friends, and acquaintances.  We acknowledge our primary spiritual responsibilities lie within the family, and will seek to cultivate a godly atmosphere in our homes and to nurture our children's love for God.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember one another in prayer, to aid one another in sickness and distress, and to cultivate courtesy in speech being slow to take offense, always ready for reconciliation.

Finally, we engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the Spirit of the Covenant and the principles of God's Word.
